The fall 2010 Tibi beauty look was all about being pretty, but in the innocent and unaware sort of way. The youthful and fun clothes were matched with the doll-like features hair and makeup achieved backstage. Makeup artist Wendy Rowe from Bobbi Brown created a fresh and glowing face with a 60s inspired cat eyes, pink cheeks, and a natural lip color. Light neutral taupe eyeshadows were applied along with a very thin application of eyeliner at the base of the lashes with a winged out cat eye. False eyelashes were applied at the outer corners of the lashes to make eyes look even wider. The secret weapon to the dewy glow is with the Opal Face Highlighter which won’t be out until the fall, but you can use their Tinted Eye Brightener for a similar effect. Hair stylists Kevin Ryan and Frank Rizzieri of Rsession Tools gave all the models tight ringlet curls and then separated them for a morning-after look. Set with a bit of hairspray, the hair moved and bounced down the runway. As for nails, Pattie Yankee of Dashing Diva mixed West Village (seen over at Halston) and Astor Place, a slate grey to create a unique shade of mushroom taupe.

Edmonton Oilers center Mike Comrie, 29 recently asked 22-year-old Disney Teenybopper Hilary Duff to marry him in Hawaii last week, reportedly getting down on one knee on their hotel balcony.

The two have been dating for two years, and they plan to wed in 2011. Early on in their relationship, Duff reported that she read Hockey for Dummies so as to better understand the stick-wielding Comrie.

One of those staples of celebrity journalism known as “a source” told E! that the ring he bought for Duff cost (put pinkie to corner of mouth Austin-Powers style) one million dollars. The only descriptions available of the ring are “14-karat” and “princess cut.”

The pair won’t exactly be living like paupers either. The source says that they are about to buy a pad in Beverly Hills for million. In case you’re wondering how a hockey player and a cable television star can afford to toss a million here, and ten million there, it’s most likely because Comrie is an heir to a Canadian retail home furniture empire called The Brick. One of his early gifts to Duff in 2007 was a Mercedes that cost 0,000. It is unclear whether everything else he buys costs an even multiple of 10.

This past Wednesday I had the pleasure of attending designer Abigail Lorick’s New York Fashion Week presentation for Fall 2010. You may have seen past Lorick collections which gained noteriety as Eleanor Waldorf’s label on Gossip Girl.

Housed in downstairs in the Union Ballroom, the descent down the stairs led to a dimly lit room where editors and press gathered to view Lorick’s confections inspired by angels in cocoons. The key to this collection is layering, layering and more layering. The pairing of lighter sheer fabrics layered underneath heavier fabrics (raw silk) gave a youthful feel to the dresses and separates making up the collection. The palette was definitely neutral, but still dramatic – taupes, black, and gold metallics accented with flashes of gray and green played throughout.

Overall the collection was very well executed with a youthful, creative and uptown energy. The styling consisted of eclectic accessories which added an additional layer of interest. Think modern day flapper chic – long brightly colored gloves in orange, green, and black. Ginormous feather headpieces, bows and hats graced the model’s wild untamed hair.
Ankle booties and wedge platform sandals were worn over glittery metallic semi-sheer tights, and black opaque tights giving gravity to the whimsical designs. Statement necklaces appeared as beaded collars and layered strands of baubles,
pearls and gold chains. Embellishment was added with accessories to the otherwise very clean cut silhouettes of the clothing. Hemlines were thigh high and exuded the charming youthful appeal.

The man who makes Spencer Pratt look like a gentleman is apparently still together with Baby Mama Kourtney Kardashian, despite rumors to the contrary. Scott Disick, whose last name would reportedly be far more descriptive if the “si” were removed, recently helped Kardashian put up a brave front in Las Vegas weekend before last.

The couple’s baby, Mason, was left with grandma Kris Jenner, Khloe, and Kim while the two had fun in Vegas, where she hosted a fashion show at Jet nightclub in the Mirage.

Scott doesn’t have such a good track record in Vegas. The last time he was there he got in a brawl with Kardashian baby brother Rob, and stuffed 0 into a waiter’s mouth during a birthday dinner for Kim Kardashian.

Whether he was sedated or just threatened sufficiently, Disick reportedly behaved well on the latest trip to sin city, according to E! News, who described the pair as “holding hands” and “cute.”

Last weekend, Kourtney and Mason reportedly partied at the Jackson compound in Encino to celebrate the birthday of one of Tito Jackson’s grandons. Turns out both Kourtney and Kim dated Tito’s sons when they were teens. No word on whether Disick partook of the festivities.
